The Monument of Drymou is located near the Community Council buildings.
It comprises of the bronze busts of the fallen Stelios Chr. Savvides, Ioannis S. Aristodemou, Andreas K. Alkiviades and the missing person Menelaos S. Menelaou. The bronze busts stand on concrete bases lined with stone and they have been donated by the Kykkos Monastery.
Stelios Chr. Savvides
Stelios Chr. Savvides was killed in the line of duty at the Police Headquarters’ Battle during the military coop. He was only 20 years old. Stelios was an exceptional man who came from a rural family. He was a member of a family of six and his parents were Christodoulos and Christina, He attended the Gymnasium of Polemi.
Ioannis Savva Aristodemou
Ioannis Aristodemou was killed in Keryneia during the Turkish invasion and he was considered a missing person until 2009. His remains were found in Agios Georgios Keryneias and were identified with a DNA test.
He was only 19 years old when he was killed. Ioannis Aristodemou was a brilliant young man and he came from a nine-member family of live-stock-breeders. His parents were Savvas and Zoitsa.
Andreas Costa Alkiviades
He was killed in a road accident while on duty at the location “Aspri Moutti” on Mount Pentadaktylos on July 4th, 1968. He was 19 years old at the time.
Andreas was a distinguished member of the Community and he was a student of the Gymnasium of Polemi. He came from an 8-member rural family. His parents were Costas and Domnou.
Menelaos Savvas Menelaou
Menelaos Menelaou has been a missing person since the Turkish invasion. He was last seen at the Omorfita Post in Trachonas. Menelaos, a bright son of Drymou, graduated from the Gymnasium of Drymou and then enlisted in the National Guard.
